Winters in the North East are hit or miss every year. We either get to experience rainy, gray, cold days where (most) of us don’t want to get off of the couch. There are the other kinds of winter here, that are dry, crisp, and snowy (where we also don’t want to get off of the couch amiright??). Snow is beautiful, and for once in my life I am finding that trees without leaves are actually really beautiful! Ever see them at sunset? Or sunrise?
The appearance of the cool toned trees with the warm sky is so pretty. Inspired by nature, I wanted to make a bare festive tree with two things: cool toned white branches warmed with a warm string of fairy lights! To give it a pop of warmth, also, dried orange slices were added to the tree as ornaments. The cost of this tree was the spray paint, which you may already have, and the cost of 1 orange. That’s it!
These dried orange slices are amazing and add a pop of color. They smell great while they dry out, but don’t expect them to be too amazingly scented when they are! Their look alone is worth it.
What ya need to do is:
This is a fun project if you’re going to be home all day decorating, of course. Use lemon slices or limes as you wish!
Use whatever string you have on hand, or garden twine for the rustic look. You can also just poke a hole in the orange and lay on a branch! Hooray Winter!!
